Description

The LP4068T is a complete constant-current/ constantvoltage linear charger for single cell lithium-ion battery.Its SOT23-6 package and low external componentcount make the LP4068T ideally suited for portableapplications. No external sense resistor is needed,and no blocking diode is required due to the internalMOSFET architecture. Thermal feedback regulatesthe charge current to limit the die temperature duringhigh power operation or high ambient temperature.The charge voltage is fixed at 4.2V, and the chargecurrent can be ISET programmed externally with asingle resistor.

The LP4068T automatically terminates the charge cyclewhen the charge current drops to 1/10 setting currentvalue after the final float voltage is reached.

When the input supply is removed, the LP4068 automatically enters a low current state, dropping thebattery drain current to less than 1μA.

Other features include charge current monitor, undervoltage lockout, automatic recharge and a status pin.
