General DescriptionThe G2258 is a high common-mode, voltage sensingcomparator that detects over-current conditions bymeasuring the voltage developed across a powerMOS. The device measures this differential voltagesignal on common-mode voltages that can vary from0V up to 0.3V, independent of the supply voltage.An open-drain FLAG output on the device can be configuredto alert low current detection.The G2258 device operates from a single 2.5V to 5.5Vsupply, drawing a maximum supply current of 350μAin normal operation. When in standby mode, theG2258 draws a maximum supply current of 50uA. TheG2258 device is specified over the extended operatingtemperature range of –40°C to +125°C, and is availablein a SOT-23-6 and SOT-23-8 package.
